Why Mobile Credentials Are Sparking Enthusiasm

Experts talk about the excitement surrounding mobile credentials and how tech giants like Apple, Google and Samsung are generating buzz with their wallet technologies.

Mobile technology is ubiquitous—and the same is becoming true for mobile credentials. According to a report from Omdia, nearly 88.8 million mobile credentials were downloaded globally in 2023, which is almost three times more than the 29.8 million downloaded in 2021.

Ideal for proximity deployments upgrading to smartcard readers

The DE2-125 card is a 13.56-MHz MIFARE® DESFire® EV2/EV3 contactless smartcard combined with 125-kHz proximity technology.

For enterprise sites with a large number of readers to replace, issue these dual-frequency cards before replacing legacy proximity readers with contactless smartcard readers. Card holders will be able to use existing proximity readers, as well as the newer smartcard readers as they are being installed.
