Long-Range Access Control

Introducing a New Access Control Solution for Standalone and Remote Access Points

Farpointe recently launched a new long-range receiver that offers single-location point-of-control, ideal for standalone and remote access points where primary networked electronic access control is difficult or impractical to implement.

The RER-11 Long-Range Edge Receiver—the newest member of the Ranger® line—was originally designed for individual garages within gated communities, but is also suitable for remote gates and outbuildings, or conventional door applications where no active management, monitoring, or audit trail is required.

Benefits of RER-11 Long-Range Edge Receiver

  • Ideal for standalone access applications, remote access points, or conventional doors.
  • Allows the same credential used on a primary access control system to be used on a seldomly used access point or one only a handful of users will access.
  • Offers up to 100 feet of read range to support long-range applications out of the box.
  • Pair RER-11 with any Wiegand reader—via its built-in Wiegand interface—to create a standalone solution.
  • Ensure access points deliver the latest in reader and credential security by pairing RER-11 with a CONEKT® reader.
  • Relay time is adjustable—between 1 to 15 seconds—to satisfy different time requirements.

RER-11 Edge Receiver Use Cases

Ranger is one of the most versatile access control ID solutions on the market today. While designed for parking, gates and other typical long-range uses, its flexibility is ideal for a wide variety of applications. And with the addition of the RER-11 Edge Receiver to its line-up, Ranger now extends an electronic access control system to locations and access points that in the past, would not have been controlled.

RER-11 Resources

The RER-11 natively supports Ranger Long-Range Transmitters, and with its on-board Wiegand interface, may optionally support a variety of RFID reader and associated card and tag technologies, as well as access applications, including keypads (PIN) and biometrics. The RER-11 offers single-location point-of-control with all configuration done directly on the unit, eliminating the requirement for separate programming devices.
