Farpointe Data’s Long-Range RFID Solution, The Ranger, is Now Available from AMAG Technology

Sunnyvale, Calif., USA - December 7, 2015 – Farpointe Data, is pleased to announce that AMAG Technology (Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, UK and Torrance, California, USA) will be offering Farpointe’s long range RFID solution, known as Ranger&, for sale through their certified Dealer Network.

“Ranger WRR-22 and WRR-44 receivers are a terrific solution for long range physical access control applications such as entering buildings, lifting gates and vehicle barriers, moving aircraft in and out of secure hangars, arming and disarming alarm systems as well as situations calling for emergency duress,” emphasizes Scott Lindley, Farpointe Data president. “Instead of using a long range card, which could activate more than one device or door at a time, the transmitter holder selects exactly the mechanism to be immediately triggered.”

Available in either a two- or four-button configuration and equipped standard with a weather-resistant potted proximity or contactless smart card module, the transmitter may also be used as a presentation-style access credential. According to Scott Pearson, Farpointe Data independents sales director, “With Ranger transmitters, a button may be pressed to access a long range application, such as a gated parking structure, and then be presented to a traditional access control reader to allow entry into the building.”

Said Stephen “Shep” Sheppard, Farpointe Data key accounts sales manager, “The new WRR-22 and WRR-44 receivers, operating at 433 MHz, both carry the CE Mark FCC certification, are ETL listed to the UL 294 standard, and are intended for use globally. They are available for immediate shipment.”
